huellas (footprints)

todo pasa y todo queda, (everything passes and everything is)
pero lo nuestro es pasar, (but it is our passing,)
pasar haciendo caminos, (passing through roads)
caminos sobre la mar. (roads around the sea.)

caminante, son tus huellas (hiker, are your footprints)
el camino y nada más; (the way and nothing more;)
caminante, no hay camino, (hiker, there's no way,)
se hace camino al andar. (that is the way to go.)

al andar se hace camino (walking becomes the path)
y al volver la vista atrás, (and to look back)
se ve la senda que nunca (is to see the path that never)
se ha de volver a pisar. (will return to step on)

caminante no hay camino, (hiker there is no path)
sino estelas en la mar... (but wakes in the sea)
caminante no hay camino (hiker there is no path)
se hace camino al andar.. (that is the way to go)
