not good enough...

and so we lost... and by we i mean the team... the team that i coach... it was interesting. the score was close, 3-2, and the play was fairly even, i think that we were stronger. and i watched as the team fell apart. i had no encouraging words to say. i didn't know what would make them play together, to trust each other or what would make a positive difference. if i knew what i could've done then i would've done it. people blame refs and players and parents and coaches... but soccer is a team sport... the team let themselves down, but as i think about it... they put up a pretty good fight. they didn't give up when they were down by a goal, instead they worked harder and tied the game... penalty shots were taken by both teams and both goalies were amazing... so i guess that even though we came up short it was okay...
and i feel so helpless.... overwhelmed.... so much stuff is just happening and yeah, i've gotta go..
time waits for no one, not even me...

It's okay hun, it's not your fault. Everyone loses sometimes. Look on the bright side. This is the first game you've lost all season, isn't it? I'd say that that is amazing. Winning isn't everything. What means the most to the team you coach is probably that you take the time to coach them.
Remember "Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall" (confucius). Game lost or game won, you are still a winner in my eyes.
