philosophy...

"Love thy neighbour as thyself because you are your neighbour. It is an illusion that makes you think that your neighbour is someone other than yourself."
~ Sarve Radhakrishnan (former pres. of India)
random thoughts written down during philosophy class today....most of them are quotes from my teacher...he's a bit twisted, though quite intelligent (or so it seems)
happiness is usually a rebound from hard work
death is a state after which we have no interest
art - a lie which helps us see the truth
religion - license for pain
- truth without evidence
institutionalized lying - usually down by those with religious beliefs
and for government propaganda
enter another mind - reality of perception - see what they see
freedom of thought - unbid the shackles
now, as you might have already guessed, i do not support many of these things, but they are certainly interesting to think about...anyways, i'm supposed to be writing an essay. it's due tomorrow. i haven't started yet :o) oh well... i guess i'll start it now
