the meaning of life...

sunlight fades
dark invades
the truth comes out

blood dripping
skin ripping
life snuffed out

yeah, my kitten died today. I must admit that it is pretty traumatic and i'm kind of in a bit of shock. I know, i know...it's just a cat, but it's hard not to get attached to it. Also, today, when we were driving home on the highway from my hockey game there was a huge traffic jam because of an accident. There were four cars involved, and one of them was flipped over on the road, it was a pick-up truck. Debris littered the road, things that belonged to the driver, tools, a constuction helmet and shattered glass. I couldn't help but ponder the repercussions of the accident on this man (i assumed it was a man). A family? Wife? Children who need to be told that Daddy can't walk anymore? What about his job? And it occured to me that life is precious. We are living in the hope that we will not die today, or tomorrow, and we do not know what each day holds in store for us. A broken arm? A raise at work? A stolen glance from the one you love? Maybe even death. It is unchangeable, unknowable and yet we wake up each day, hoping for the best. As said in the movie A Knight's Tale one of the lines is, "Hope guides me". Oh so true.
Anyways, i'm out, need to write an essay and stop ruminating on the meaning of life :) *
